Acekit Bike Saddle

This Acekit bike saddle is number 1 on my list, you’ll see why.

This bike saddle is definitely one for the pros. With an ergonomic design and made from premium materials including a unibody EVA gel sponge. Unlike other saddles, you will find that this one has a hollow and breathable design, and it’s available in red, black, or yellow colorways.

No matter if you’re a road biker and like to commute to work every day, or a mountain biker exploring rough trails, the Acekit saddle provides a comfortable, shock-absorbing design that is breathable and lightweight. You can see why the Acekit is top of the list!

The shape memory polymer of this seat possesses a special memory effect. Therefore the saddle doesn’t only offer a comfortable design but also provides great health benefits.

The bike seat also ensures constant air circulation so you can avoid any unpleasant sweating in your private areas which puts us all off riding. Now, for only a small price you can cycle with confidence and know everything is going to be comfortable downstairs.

And that’s not all.

The Velmia saddle offers a width of 7.3 inches which we found to be a great fit but on top of this, the welded seams are completely waterproof.

OUXI Comfort Bike Seat

If you want a saddle for BMX, MTB, road bike, or folding bike, this one is among the best.

The comfortable bike seat surface on the OUXI is non-slip wear-resistant texture PU leather. With high-density, artificial fatty gel and a highly elastic sponge inside you’ll feel much more comfortable during your ride.

Also included are a waterproof cover and a 13mm/15mm screwdriver. And that’s not it, you’ll also get a removable bonus saddle adapter 7/8″ inside diameter seat clamp package included.

In case you might be asking yourself, the scientific and ergonomic design maintains healthy buttocks whilst the humane hollow ventilation design keeps ventilation during riding. Plus, the streamlined design avoids friction on the inside of the thigh.

But what have others said?

One happy customer said, “I feel like this seat was a bargain. I was initially looking for a seat cover to cushion my cushion. But this seat’s price was comparable to the covers I was looking at. It looks very sharp on my bike and the cushion is more comfortable than any cover I’ve ever had. The best part, if it’s stolen or falls apart in a year, I don’t feel like I’ve had a great loss. I’d probably just go buy another.”

Cloud-9 Metroline Saddle

Have you been looking for the ultimate comfortable BMX seat?

Let me introduce the Cloud-9 Metroline Saddle. If you’ve ever had numb legs or pain during your bike ride, chances are it was your saddle. This seat utilizes comfort channel and well placed gel cushioning to balance out your body weight so you can ride pain free and for longer.

The level of comfort you’ll get from this seat is underrated. It has multi-stage memory foam that accommodates your body as well as elastomer suspension for that bounce. This makes it ideal for those bumpy or gravel roads where you need a comfy seat.

What I especially love about this bike seat is the integrated handle. It can be annoying when you have to move your bike around manually or carry it somewhere, and I thought this small addition to the seat makes all the difference when it comes to practicality.

To top it all off, the seat was made using shock absorbing steel rails which reduces road vibrations. What that means for you and me is much smoother cycling, and longer, happier rides. I can see why they’ve called it the Cloud-9!

The Best BMX saddles

When you own a BMX bike, it’s almost a whole other hobby in itself trying to upgrade its parts and improving it. When you need to replace a seat for your BMX bike, you need to go through tonnes of other seats not really designed for a BMX bike or suited to the kind of cycling you do.

Whether you enjoy doing freestyle, dirt jumping or racing your BMX bike, you need a seat that can keep up. Not only is this going to be so much more comfortable for you, but it will also help you to reach max potential on your bike.

BMX seats are not really made to be sitting on for long hours, which is why you may find most are very thin and narrow, with little to no padding. The lightweight and ergonomic shape are what makes it ideal on a BMX bike, which is why you need to find seats that fit this category and not regular bike seats which can be wider and bulkier.

Now.

In this list of our top best BMX bike seats, we’ve uncovered some great options to suit all budgets and tastes, but without losing out on quality.

That means you can skip the boring stuff and make the most of your BMX bike giving it an extra boost with the perfect seat for you.

What we looked for:

To make sure we only recommended the best BMX bike seats for you all, we checked each of these saddles with how they measure up on quality weight, value for money, comfort, and ergonomic design.

Here are a few extra things to consider when buying the best BMX bike saddle for you:

Materials–Most of the BMX saddles are made of a molded hard plastic that features polyurethane foam.

This foam is covered by synthetic or leather material. In terms of durability, leather covers are the best, but more expensive.

In case you are searching for a cheaper option, synthetics such as nylon are also great. Carbon rails are lightweight, while steel is strong. Check out the padding as well which can be gel or foam.

Width –Slim BMX saddles are the best for race riders because their sides do not sag or brush against your clothes or legs while riding.

On the other hand, fat seats are suitable for jump riders because they provide a large surface area for grip and comfort. Mid-width is the best for street and freestyle riders.

Post diameter– In case you are buying an integrated saddle, you need to ensure that it has a diameter of 22.4mm because that is the standard size for top tubes, that way you know it will fit your bike.

Comfort – No padding can be good for speed, but it’s not ideal for long hours sitting on it. Make sure it is well padded, and that the seat structure offers support such as center cutouts or wider rear.

Bumper– A seat with a bumper is the best because it protects you from impact and shock. Most of the BMX saddle comes with a plastic or Kevlar bump on the nose part or the sides.

The work of this bump is to neutralize all impacts and shock absorption. Pretty useful if you do a lot of jumps or freestyle riding.

Types of BMX bike saddles

Here are some of the different types of BMX bike saddles and what the terms mean.

Integrated– This one is the common type; it’s basically a seat post and a seat that are joined together as one unit. You can’t separate the two.

Standard – Standard saddles come with a metal pipe that slides into the frame of the BMX seat. The saddle is usually bolted on top using a clamp. You can easily find this type on traditional or older BMX bikes.

Railed– It is not easy to differentiate between railed, road bike, and MTB saddles because they have a similar design. These saddles usually contain two rails below the saddle and a twin bolt clamp on the seat post.

Pivotal – A Pivotal saddle has a unique design where the seat post is usually molded using different series of adjustment grooves where the saddle is placed.

The saddle and the adjustment grooves are joined together by a singular bolt that passes through the top of the seat.

Tripod – These saddles feature a triangular plate that is on top of the seat post. Three bolts then secure the triangular plate.

How to look after BMX Saddles

Most saddles you can simply wipe clean with a cloth and some soap, but leather BMX seats are a little more complicated.

Leather

Although the best in terms of comfort and durability they need careful looking after or they may not last. Below are some tips

When cleaning, use a damp cloth or a brush. You should scrub the top and the bottom part gently and then allow it to dry completely.

After cleaning, apply a leather conditioner on the saddle and also apply a thin layer of the leather conditioner on the bottom part.

Allow the conditioner to soak in and then rub the top carefully using a clean piece of cloth or rag.

Repeat the conditioning after one or two months.

You should also put the saddle in a cool and dry place. Moisture, heat, and exposing the seat to direct sunlight may affect the durability of the seat.

After using the saddle for a long time, it becomes loose at some point. What you need to do when this happens is to tighten the bolt that is located on the nose of the saddle using an adjustable wrench.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do BMX bikes have low seats?

Low seats give you more room for acrobatic body movements. This is perfect for bunny hops or other tricks so you can clear the frame easily no matter what you do.

Can you ride BMX long distances?

BMX bikes are not suitable for long distances. They’ve been designed to go fast over shorter distances. That’s why BMX seats are better for speed rather than comfort.

Do all bike seats fit all bikes?

Most modern seats can be fitted to most bikes unless you have a very unique or older bike. Some BMX bikes or dirt jump bikes however may need a specific seat, so check your bike before making a purchase.

Are gel bike seats any good?

Gel saddles are super comfortable when new, but may get displaced and lose a bit of their shape over time. They’re great for beginners though, just make sure you replace them regularly.

The Final Verdict

Replacing your BMX saddle doesn’t have to be a headache.

If you have been planning to replace your BMX saddle with a new one, check out the ones in this list that have been fully vetted out in terms of comfort, durability, quality of materials, and ergonomic lightweight design.
