The main ways to make your electric bike go faster is to ride when your battery is fully charged, invest in a higher voltage battery, higher RPM motor, reduce weight, using thinner tires with more pressure.
Before we get started, you might want to keep in mind the laws for your local area; since the laws and regulations differ across states and even different countries, you might only be able to make your e-bike go faster to a certain point while still remaining within the law for your area.
There are a few ways you can increase the speed while still remaining legal!

Most electric bikes have a maximum speed limiter, but you can make your electric bicycle go far further with a few tweaks. So let’s talk about some top tips to make your electric bike go faster while staying within the speed limit.
Always Ride With A Charged Battery:
The voltage of your battery produces always best when the battery is 100% charged and as the battery gets lower, so does the voltage, which is why you’ll find that the speed is lower when the battery is lower.
A fully charged battery will produce 4.2 volts, whereas, at 50%, it will only produce 3.6 volts which is a lot lower, and as the battery depletes even more than this will continue to go down.
It is also better for your battery health of e-bikes to charge the battery after every ride rather than wait for it to fully deplete. It will ensure that your battery lasts for longer too.
But ensuring you are always riding your e-bike when it is fully charged will inevitably allow it to travel at higher speeds while remaining within the legal speed limit for your state.
Reduce The Weight On The E-Bike:
This might be pretty obvious, but the heavier the load you are carrying on your electric bicycles, the slower it will go. So by reducing the weight, you can easily increase the speed that you are going.
The less amount of weight, the less pressure on your electric motor in order to move; this can affect the acceleration so you can get to a higher speed much quicker.
You can easily reduce the weight by preventing yourself from packing necessary things. For example, packing two water bottles they are handy for emergencies but have you ever drunk both?
If you haven’t, then don’t bring it or bring a smaller bottle; the same goes for using thinner layers. You can even change the tires, so they are lighter to reduce the weight further.

Despite increasing the speed of the electric bike being very thrilling, there are some obvious drawbacks of changing the speed of the electric bike, which I will highlight now.
Higher Chance Of Injury:
This is pretty obvious. The faster you ride, the higher the chance of injury and accidents. For most states, it is illegal not to wear a helmet, but even it isn’t to prevent serious damage, I would recommend it.
To keep yourself safe, I would recommend also wearing protective gear to protect yourself from serious damage if you do get into an accident.
Your Electric Bike Might Now Be Illegal To Use:
The maximum speeds on your e-bike are there for a reason; it’s, so they abide by the laws and regulations around electric bikes for that state. So by increasing the speed, it may make the bike illegal.
Cycling above the legal speed limit can put you in direct collision with the authorities, especially if you use the bike on public roads and spaces, so before increasing the speed, be sure to check the laws.
Reduces Battery Life:
